Welcome to Infobits

Infobits is a new feature intended to fill a gap here at inAmherst.com.  Full-scale articles require research and reporting that we are not always able to provide, and News Nuggets are weekly (well, they're supposed to be weekly...) and require a certain critical mass.  Information that doesn't fit well into either of those models has been falling through the cracks.  Infobits may be the answer.

It is another way inAmherst.com is working to help keep you informed.  Check back often.

I have an infobit. After May 31st, parking at the Pray St. lot is free until the end of August. You still have to pay if you park in the metered section. (Why would you during the free summer period, anyway?) It's always free on the weekends year round.

Another infobit. Blue Sky Contemporary Crafts is having a going out of business sale....sad. They had such beautiful things reasonably priced. They are across from the Carriage Shops, and saturday is the final day.

The first thursday of each month in downtown Amherst is the Art Walk. That means it's this thursday, June 6th. Great job promoting this event Amherst Chamber of Commerce. It's not on your website, and it's not in this week's Amherst Bulletin as far as I could tell. Do we have the only anti-business chamber of commerce around?
Only in Amherst. No wonder the homeowners have such a high tax burden. No one gives a darn. You would have to be crazy to open a business here. BTW, I'm retired, and don't have a vested interest in any Amherst business and never have. However, I am an over-burdened home owner in Amherst. And with the construction on Rte 9, I'm spending more time in downtown and less in Northampton. It's too bad the marketing strategy is non-existent.
