The more information, the better.
That's the inspiration behind inAmherst.com. Having another source for local news and information means more stories get told and more perspectives get represented.
Ours is a modest operation, so we have no illusions of covering every story in town. Instead, we will be finding our niche — finding the topics we are well-positioned to explore, and most of all, finding answers to the questions that most intrigue us.
So welcome! While you're here, we hope you'll read, comment, ask questions and suggest story ideas. That makes this information exchange go both ways.
And you can never have too much information.
Stephanie O'Keeffe is inAmherst.com's editor and publisher. She and her husband Jonathan moved to Amherst in 1996, returning to the town where Stephanie had lived for several years as a child. Her first career was in public relations and journalism in the automotive industry. She has been an active local volunteer in Amherst, most significantly as a Board member of the Amherst Survival Center and Shelter Sunday/Amherst Friends for the Homeless, and as a delivery volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels. She was elected to Town Meeting in Precinct 9 in the spring of 2006.
